ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY

The corporate motto for C.W. Wright Construction Company, LLC is “Service With Safety”. Creating and maintaining a safe work place is demanded by our employees, expected by our customers, and demanded by the public. The EH&S Department’s mission is to ensure that “Service With Safety” is more than a motto; it is a core value reflected in all we do. To accomplish this mission, we have been given the resources to administer an aggressive loss control program that consists of employee training, published safety manuals and work methods, job site audits, safety inspections, good catch/near misses, EH&S compliance reviews and a relentless commitment to continuously improve our safety and environmental performance.

The goal of the EH&S Department and the Company is zero accidents/ zero injuries, along with zero environmental compliance notices of violations (NOVs). We seek to accomplish this goal by empowering every employee with the authority to stop a job if an unsafe condition or behavior exists. In addition, and in the spirit of our EH&S partnership, every employee is expected to report any unsafe conditions or environmental compliance shortcomings to their supervisor and to ask for instruction from their foreman if they are unsure how to conduct a specific task safely. As a company, we are continuously looking for ways to improve and actively encourage suggestions regarding ways to better our safety, production, quality and environmental compliance. Furthermore, it is a fundamental belief at C.W. Wright that all supervisors shall monitor, assist, and mentor employee’s in the safe performance of their duties so that safe work behaviors and attitudes become an expected part of every employee’s job performance. This is the EH&S culture that we have developed over our history and continues to serve us well as we mentor the next generation of world class lineman.

All employees are trained on OSHA regulatory requirements for Construction, Electrical Transmission and Distribution work. Continued education is provided to employees on a regular basis and structured after T&D PowerSkills, LLC., which is nationally recognized and endorsed by the Institute for Safety in Powerline Construction (ISPC). We have an in-house four-year apprenticeship program that continues to develop our younger employees into quality first class linemen that allows us to sustain talented and experienced crews. Please refer to our Apprenticeship Training section to learn more.
